The GOP is scrambling to respond to recent electoral defeats — including the presidential election and Georgia Senate runoffs — as well as the political fallout from Wednesday’s riot at the Capitol building.

Some Republican officials and donors blame President Donald Trump’s post-election rhetoric for costing the GOP its Senate majority and fueling violence at the Capitol, according to CNBC. But polling data shows Republican voters still largely approve of Trump and most did not blame the president for the riot.
