The New York Post has reportedly banned its reporters from solely basing articles off of reporting from CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post and The New York Times.

NY Post editors reportedly are now requiring reporters to confirm content written by the four named publications separately before publishing it, according to an article from the NYT. The NYT cited three current journalists at the NY Post who spoke anonymously.

Editor-in-chief of NYPost.com Michelle Gotthelf reportedly made the announcement along with section editors. The NY Post did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller.

“CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post and The Times are seen as liberal within the Murdoch empire, which is home to Fox News and Fox Business, cable networks that were instrumental to the rise of President Trump,” the NYT wrote. “To publish articles based on the work of those organizations would not fit The Post’s right-leaning identity, the journalists said.”

CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post and The New York Times are included in the list of publications that President Donald Trump regularly decries as “fake news.” The NY Post, a newspaper that endorsed Trump, recently urged him to stop “cheering for an undemocratic coup.”

This editorial piece was published in December, before Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an attempt to interrupt lawmakers certifying the electoral college votes for President-elect Joe Biden. (RELATED: FBI Says Armed Protests Planned In All 50 State Capitols Before Biden’s Inauguration)

“We understand, Mr. President, that you’re angry that you lost,” the editorial board wrote at the time. “But to continue down this road is ruinous. We offer this as a newspaper that endorsed you, that supported you: If you want to cement your influence, even set the stage for a future return, you must channel your fury into something more productive.”
