Gal Gadot revealed she took the day off from filming “Wonder Woman 1984” to light a candle in “remembrance of” her “grandfather and his family” on Holocaust Remembrance Day.

“This photo was taken at the Hall of Remembrance at the US Holocaust Memorial museum,” the 35-year-old actress captioned her post Wednesday on Instagram, along with two photos of her lighting a candle in 2018 at the “Auchwitz (sic) wall in remembrance.”

“Watching this horrible pandemic take so many lives of holocaust survivors all over the world, I feel a stronger connection and an obligation to make sure we all remember,” she added.

“Challenging times make us realize how fragile we are, how connected we all are and how we need to take care of one another,” Gadot continued. “It is a reminder to us all that even in the darkest times, we must stand together and be the light we need. #WeRemember and may we never forget.”

In 2018, the “Wonder Woman” star shared a tribute to her late grandfather, Abraham Weiss, and all those affected by the Holocaust, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Gadot, whose grandfather Weiss died in 2013 at the age 85, praised him in a social media post while she shared he “lost his entire family in Auschwitz.” (RELATED: ‘It Was The Worst Imaginable Thing You Could Think Of’: Holocaust Survivors Recount Their Experiences On Holocaust Remembrance Day)

“I think of you today, at this very moment of remembrance, which is also a call for all of us to act against discrimination of any kind,” she added. “Anywhere in the world.”
