Disney+ Hits More Than 100 Million Subscribers

Business continues to boom for Disney+.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced during a Tuesday shareholder’s meeting that the streaming service now has more than 100 million subscribers. (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

He also added the goal for the site is “a target of 100+ new titles per year, and this includes Disney Animation, Disney Live Action, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.”

Well, do we think “WandaVision” and “The Mandalorian” have resulted in smashing success for Disney+? I think the answer to that is obvious.

Not only are a bunch of old and new movies on the streaming service, but the original content is outstanding.

Wandavision,” which I haven’t finished yet, and “The Mandalorian” are both outstanding. People respond to great content and Disney+ has been dropping it in spades.

As I always say, the streaming wars are great news for consumers. The better one service does, the better the rest have to do in order to keep up.

It’s just business. Right now, Netflix is the king by a considerable margin, but HBO and Disney clearly are fighting like hell to make it a competition.
