Pitino was officially fired by Minnesota late Monday night after several underwhelming years with the Gophers.

The fact Pitino already has another job lined up less than a day after being fired means this has been in the works for awhile.
Clearly, his agent was pounding the pavement for him before the Gophers officially pulled the plug.
Despite the fact the Gophers never met expectations with Pitino, I do believe he can be a solid college coach.
Going down to a great mid-major program might be a way for him to reset his gears after failing in the B1G.

Best of luck to Pitino in the Mountain West Conference. We’ll see if he can rehab his career and find his way back into the P5.
