ANALYSIS: The US Has A Clear Path To Reopening Schools. Here’s How Fall 2021 Might Look

Despite decreasing hospitalizations, viral spread and deaths attributed to the coronavirus, some school districts are still keeping their classes online-only. However, a number of states have already returned to school — and could provide a clear template for the same move in other states.

Many children have proven unable to learn in a virtual classroom, and mental health issues associated with the shutdowns have skyrocketed. Former Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner Scott Gottlieb argued in The Wall Street Journal that schools must make sure all students return to in-person classes by fall 2021, in part for these reasons.
