Corporate America has emerged as the leading financier of the social justice movement in the months since the police-involved death of George Floyd in May 2020 ignited nationwide civil unrest and a national conversation about racial equity.

Research from the philanthropy research organization Candid found that corporate donations to racial equity causes between June 2020 and January was far greater than donations from non-profit foundations and individual philanthropists, the Associated Press (AP) reported.
