ANALYSIS: The Government Is Giving Your Tax Dollars To Amazon For Website Hosting — Could They Deplatform The White House?

Amazon currently holds a number of government contracts for web hosting and cloud services. While these contracts are by no means new, recent censorship has caused lawmakers to question just how much power Amazon has over our government.

Amazon has procured a number of high-profile government contracts over the past decade because of Amazon Web Service’s relatively long experience in cloud infrastructure compared to other competitors. While Amazon says their infrastructure is saving the U.S. government hundreds of thousands of dollars, some wonder whether U.S. taxpayer dollars should be going towards a company that has deplatformed social media startups and banned books at will.
