One woman is dead and five individuals – including four children – were injured Sunday after an argument at an Alabama park turned into a massive shootout, according to reports.

The incident unfolded around 7:00 p.m., at Patton Park in Birmingham, Alabama.

“At the time the shooting occurred, hundreds of people were gathered at the park celebrating the Easter Holiday when gunfire erupted,” police said, according to CNN.

Responding officers found 32-year-old Areyelle Yarbrough dead on the ground near the passenger door of her vehicle, according to CNN. Police said she was an innocent bystander, according to ABC News. (RELATED: Police Data Shows Chicago Shootings For March At Highest Level In 4 Years)

Five other individuals were shot, including a four-year-old, according to ABC News. All victims were transported to local hospitals in stable condition, according to the report.

Police reportedly said there was an altercation between some men at the park that quickly transpired, leading to shots being fired.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from an altercation amongst two groups of males which escalated to an exchange of gunfire in the crowded park. Evidence collected indicates over 30 rounds were fired,” police said, according to CNN.

No suspects have been identified but police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

“This park was full of people, full of families and we know people saw things today,” Sgt. Rod Mauldin said at a press conference, according to ABC News.
