TV personality Piers Morgan claimed members of the royal family have thanked him for “standing up” after Meghan Markle’s tell-all interview.

Morgan said he has had “messages communicated” to him by “several” royal family members during an interview with Extra TV published Tuesday.

“I’ve had some messages communicated to me on behalf of several members of the royal family,” Morgan told Billy Bush.

“I’m not going to go into who it was but [it was] gratitude that somebody was standing up,” he added.

The royal couple dropped bombshells during a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey in early March, accusing the palace of racism. Markle also opened up about her mental health struggles. She even revealed she was once suicidal. The British commentator referred to the televised interview as the “acting performance” of Markle’s life, thereby implying she was untruthful during the interview.

“This was the acting performance of her life, with every word, every facial expression carefully planned and choreographed,” Morgan wrote at the time. “In fact, if it’s not late, someone should nominate it for the Oscars.”

Morgan left “Good Morning Britain” after making comments on-air and receiving backlash.
