Ellen DeGeneres opened up about the time she tried “weed drinks”—it happened on the same night she had to rush her wife, Portia De Rossi, to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy.

“So, Chelsea Handler told me about these weed drinks, they’re called Cann, and they have CBD or [THC]—I don’t know what the good thing is,” the 63-year-old talk show host revealed during her appearance on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show. The comments begin at the 8:26 mark. (RELATED: Willie Nelson Calls On Biden To Make April 20 To April 29 The ‘High Holidays’)

“I drank one, and I didn’t feel anything, so I drank three, and then I took two melatonin sleep pills,” she added. “And I’m laying in bed, and I realize [Portia’s] not in bed.” (RELATED: Ellen DeGeneres Addresses Toxic Workplace Environment On First Day Back)

“She’s [Portia’s] moaning,” Ellen continued. “And I get out of bed, and she’s on the ground on all fours.”

DeGeneres said at that point she told her wife she wasn’t “OK” and joked with her that unless she was “playing Twister by herself” she was definitely not “OK.”

It was at that point the comedian said her adrenaline just kicked in and she rushed her wife “to the emergency room.”

“You drove her yourself,” Jimmy Kimmel replied.

“I did,” Ellen admitted. “I mean, I kicked in, like my adrenaline, because I just had to rush her there. It’s probably not safe. I shouldn’t be saying any of this.”

Ellen also revealed it turned out her wife had to undergo an emergency appendectomy and said she was feeling “much better now.”
