A recent study by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) concluded that domestic terror incidents have become more common in the United States, and national media coverage this past year almost always centered on white supremacist and right-wing extremist groups.

The CSIS report published April 12 found that white supremacists, militia groups and far-right extremists were responsible for 66% of domestic terrorist attacks and plots in 2020. The report also found those incidents involved more military service members, veterans and law enforcement than in previous years.
