A judge sentenced rapper Kodak Black to probation Wednesday for assaulting a teenage girl back in 2016.

Kodak Black pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and received 18 months of probation after originally being charged with rape, the Associated Press (AP) reported. The rapper could end up in prison for a minimum of 10 years if the terms of the probation are not followed, according to the outlet. “I apologize this happened, and I’m hopeful we can all move forward,” Kodak Black said to the girl over a virtual stream of the hearing, the AP noted.

Kodak Black commented on the sentencing on his Twitter account Wednesday.

“5 yrs later … both us just wanted to get this shit over wit AND I ain’t have to come off no money,” he wrote.

The teenage girl first accused Kodak Black of assaulting her in a hotel room after a show he performed in Florence in 2016. The girl reported the attack to a school nurse at the time, according to the AP.

Kodak continued to deny that he ever raped the girl on social media.

“My heart goes out to all the girls out here getting raped and shit FORREAL , But I Ain’t Did That Shit,” he wrote.
