Comedian Tiffany Haddish could reportedly take over the spot left open as Ellen DeGeneres quits her daytime talk show.

“Tiffany is a favorite, she has humor and empathy in spades,” a senior NBCUniversal source told Page Six in a report published Wednesday.

“She’s top of the list to get a daytime show – she’s a fresh voice,” the source reportedly said.

Haddish has stepped in on “The Ellen Show” for DeGeneres before, back in October and this past April, according to Page Six. (RELATED: ‘The Ellen Show’ Sees Lowest Ratings Amid Reports Of Toxic Work Environment, Sexual Misconduct Allegations)

The comedian currently hosts CBS’s “Kids Say The Darndest Things” and she’s working on a new movie starring Billy Crystal.

DeGeneres announced the end of her daytime talk show Wednesday.

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged — and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres told The Hollywood Reporter about the decision to end her show after 19 seasons.

Look, DeGeneres is definitely a creative person, but she isn’t Tiffany-Haddish funny. Haddish would be a great addition to NBC’s daytime lineup. I’m not sure she can bring in the same kind of ratings DeGeneres did, but the content would at least be better.

Did anyone else watch “Girl’s Trip”? I think that movie in itself explains why Haddish would be perfect for the job.
