Former first lady Laura Bush weighed in on daughter Jenna Bush Hager’s freaky White House ghost story and admitted she “never” saw or experienced anything like it when she lived there.

“I think Barbara and Jenna were the ones that felt like it was haunted and pretended like they heard voices,” the former first lady shared during a virtual appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” The comments were noted by the “Today” show in a piece published Tuesday.

“It’s probably just the Secret Service talking down the hall in another room that they heard, but we didn’t think it was haunted.” she added.

“We loved living there,” Bush continued. “It’s a magnificent house, and it has a magnificent art collection, which was also fun to have the chance to live with those beautiful paintings.” (RELATED: Jenna Bush Hager Reveals Chat She Had With Dad About Alcohol That Changed How She Views Drinking)

Hager previously shared an otherworldly experience on Kelly’s show involving hearing 1920s music playing one night in the White House when she and sister Barbara Bush lived there during their father George W. Bush’s presidency. (RELATED: Here’s A Look Back At George H.W. Bush’s Life In Pictures)

“It woke us up in the middle of the night,” Hager said, telling the “Today” show a similar story in 2018. “We had a fireplace in our room, and all of a sudden we started hearing, like, 1920s piano music as clear as day coming out of the fireplace.”

“The next week, we heard the same thing but opera,” she added.

Hager reacted Tuesday to her mom debunking her ghost story and insisted she and her sister did in fact “hear” something.

“I really did hear it,” Hager told her co-host Hoda Kotb. “Shall we do some research into can the Secret Service play 1920s piano music? And we can call Barbara on speaker phone if people disagree.”

Hager then recalled talking to a White House staffer named Buddy at the time about hearing the music who she said told her, “‘Oh, Jenna, you wouldn’t believe what I’ve seen in these walls.'”

“Buddy is on my team, my sister [Barbara] is on my team,” she added. “I love my mom, the ghosts just might not’ve been into her.”
