Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ soccer team will be the center of the new series “Welcome to Wrexham.”

The two Hollywood stars bought Wrexham Football Club back in February, and now, the Welsh soccer team will get a major light shined on it in the FX series. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

You can watch the announcement from Reynolds and the creator of “It’s Always Sunny” below.

Deadline wrote the following about the series, which has already been ordered for two seasons:

The series will track the dreams and people of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, as the actors take ownership of the town’s historic yet struggling club.

It will follow Reynolds and McElhenney’s crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two stars to bring some serious hope and change to the community.

I’m getting some major “Ted Lasso” vibes here, and I say that as an incredibly high compliment. The hit Apple show took the entertainment industry by storm when an American coach headed to England.

Now, two American superstars are headed to Wrexham in control of the local football team. This is the kind of drama that I could actually get behind.

This is going to be absolutely electric, and it might actually make me care about soccer. I know that’s borderline impossible to do, but here we are.

McElhenney and Reynolds are both stars, and they now own a foreign pro soccer team. The possibilities here are truly endless.
