Former President Barack Obama joked his daughters Malia and Sasha have no interest in “public service” and have “PTSD” from Secret Service.

The comments came during Obama’s virtual appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” when he was asked what advice the former president would give his daughters if they ever were to express an interest in going into public service following the time they spent in the White House during his presidency. The clip was noted by TMZ in a piece published Monday. (RELATED: Jill Biden And Michelle Obama Shine In Striking Coat Combos For Inauguration)

The clip in question starts at the 5:53 minute mark.

“First of all, them as teenagers having Secret Service guys follow them when they are out on dates, I think probably has shut down their interest in public service,” Barack explained. “They still have PTSD from guys talking into their wrist microphones and glasses as they’re trying to go to a music concert,” he added.

At one point, the 44th President of the United States said his daughters would “probably find other ways to serve” rather than “run for office themselves.” He explained that Sasha and Malia have “turned into just exceptional young women” and he couldn’t be “prouder of them.”
