Wisconsin is apparently expected to get off to a rough start this football season.

247Sports published a piece predicting the first loss for every B1G team, and the site has the Badgers losing our Sept. 4 opener against Penn State. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

There is zero chance the Badgers drop the opener to Penn State. Literally zero chance. Ignore the fact that we opened as -3.5 favorites, it’s just not going to happen.

Do we all remember how Graham Mertz opened the 2020 season before the team was railroaded by COVID-19? He annihilated Illinois to the tune of five passing touchdowns.

Now, he’s had an entire offseason of work with Paul Chryst, and that’s bad news for every single team that we line up against.

Do I think the Nittany Lions will be greatly improved in 2021? Yes. Last year’s season was an extreme outlier.

That’s not going to happen again. It still likely won’t be enough. Chryst is simply a better coach than James Franklin and we’re returning the majority of our team. I just don’t see how we can lose.

Having said that, Sept. 4 can’t get here fast enough. It’s only 107 days away! I can’t wait!
