President Joe Biden’s climate agenda calls for expanding wind energy production, but his energy regulators include industry insiders who spent years lobbying or working for the companies behind offshore wind farms backed by the administration.

Biden appointed Richard Glick to chair the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on his first day in office. He was previously appointed by former President Donald Trump to serve on the commission despite being a Democrat. As the leading energy regulator in the federal government, Glick could play an instrumental role in advancing the president’s climate agenda.
