Conservatives are at a key disadvantage when it comes to not only taking back power in Washington D.C., but the political and broader culture of the country: Liberals have a massive funding advantage within the institutions that can change and make public policy.

Former President Donald Trump rose to the presidency by talking about draining the swamp in Washington, D.C. It seems the former president was right that the swamp has it out for conservatives, and will pose a considerable challenge for anyone looking to come to Washington to shake up the status quo. A trend that used to be an advantage of the American right during the 1980s and 1990s — public policy spending — is increasingly turning into a massive liability, and has deepened the swamp’s liberal biases.
