Aispuro was originally arrested in February on charges relating to participating in the illegal distribution and importation of drugs into the U.S. plus her involvement in assisting in El Chapo’s prison escape.
Aispuro reportedly illegally distributed and imported one kilogram or more of heroin, five kilograms or more of cocaine, one thousand kilograms or more of marijuana and five hundred grams or more of methamphetamines into the U.S., according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Authorities have also accused Aispuro of aiding El Chapo his escape from prison. El Chapo escaped using a tunnel located in his prison shower.
