In her latest bid for leniency, alleged Jeffrey Epstein madam Ghislaine Maxwell is claiming that her prison cell is flooded with vermin poop and sewage.

In court papers filed Tuesday, Maxwell’s attorney said “vermin droppings fell from air vents” above Maxwell’s prison cell and that “raw sewage permeated” the isolation cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn last week. Her attorney also said that the incident caused Maxwell to be moved to another cell. (RELATED: Judge Denies Ghislaine Maxwell’s Third Bail Bid Despite Offer To Renounce French And UK Citizenships)

“Numerous complaints have been brought to the Court’s attention regarding recurring problematic conditions at the MDC and over-management of Ms. Maxwell,” Maxwell’s attorney, Bobbi Sternheim, wrote in the letter to U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan.

Sternheim added: “Little if anything has been done to improve Ms. Maxwell’s conditions. And the government’s updates to the Court embolden the MDC to maintain the status quo.”

“At a minimum, this should not be sanctioned by the Court,” wrote Sternheim.

Maxwell is currently awaiting trial for her alleged role in grooming underage girls for Epstein. She’s made several earlier attempts to convince the court to let her out of prison, but all of her requests have been rejected.

Earlier this month, U.S. Attorneys for the Southern District of New York sent a letter to Judge Nathan on Maxwell’s conditions in prison. The letter provided several examples of extra time Maxwell is afforded to review her legal case, speak with her lawyers over the phone and in person, access computers, a television, and a phone; and spend time outdoors. The letter also states that Maxwell is evaluated by medical and psychology staff daily.

In her last attempt to convince the court, Maxwell reportedly claimed the prison conditions were “fitting for…Hannibal Lecter.”
