“Fear Street” is 100% intended to be for adults only.

The highly-anticipated Netflix horror trilogy starts July 2, and many of us have been wondering what kind of tone the films based on R.L. Stine books will have. (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

Well, in case you thought they were going to be childish at all, all worries have now been erased. According to ComingSoon.Net, the first two films have both been rated R.

The first one is R for “strong bloody violence, drug content, language, and some sexual content,” and the second one is R for “bloody horror violence, sexual content, nudity, drug use, and language throughout.”

While the rating isn’t out for “1666,” you can bet your life savings that it’ll also garner an R-rating.

This is music to my ears. From the moment I saw the first teaser for “Fear Street,” I hoped that Netflix would make it incredibly dark and sinister.

While the movies are based on books from the famous “Goosebumps” author, Netflix is clearly aiming for an adult audience, and that’s the correct decision.

It’s an ambitious project that could change streaming forever, and in order to do that, you have to be taken seriously. Being slapped with an R-rating will get the job done.

Make sure to check out the first “Fear Street” film July 2 and the next two through July 16. I can’t wait to see this project from Netflix. I genuinely believe it’s going to be awesome.
