‘Skid Row’ Rocker Johnny Solinger Dead At 55

“Skid Row” rocker Johnny Solinger reportedly died over the weekend at the age of 55, weeks after he reportedly shared he was dealing with liver failure.

The former lead singer, who took over the job from Sebastian Bach in 1999 and stayed until 2015, died Saturday, Fox News reported in a piece published Monday. (RELATED: 28-Year-Old ‘Wicked Tuna’ Star Dies Suddenly. Read The Details)

“We are saddened to hear the news of our brother Johnny Solinger,” a message on the band’s Instagram read about their former bandmate’s death. “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fans. Godspeed Singo. Say hello to Scrappy for us.”

Former band members posted tributes to Solinger on their social media accounts.

“My condolences to the family [and] friends of Johnny Solinger the singer who replaced Sean McCabe in Skid Row,” former lead vocalist Sebastian Bach wrote. “Only contact I had was back in 1991 or so. Microphone years [before] I was kicked out in 1996. Awkward to wake up to headlines ‘Skid Row Singer Dies’ some using a pic of me. Sorry [to] hear.”

Johnny was reportedly married to actress Paula Marcenaro, who also shared news of his passing on his GoFundMe page, Entertainment Weekly reported.(RELATED: ‘The Office’ Star Mark York Dead At 55)

“Johnny has passed,” the update on his page read. “I was holding his hand. He went in peace. Thank you all. I will take a break from everything but please know I am forever grateful for your love.”
