Ohio Democrats had a full-blown meltdown during a recent hearing on an amendment that would ban biological men from competing on girl’s sports teams.
State Republican Rep. Jena Powell proposed the “Save Women’s Sports Act” in 2020 which would amend Ohio’s “Name, Image, Likeness” bill to prevent biological men from competing on female sports teams even if they identify as female.

As Powell speaks about the amendment, a group of Democrats begins pounding on their desks, prompting Powell to raise her voice. (RELATED: New Zealand Weightlifter Will Be First Openly Transgender Athlete To Participate In Olympics)
“The ‘Save Women’s Sports Act’ is a fairness issue for women to be able to achieve their dreams and athletics in our state. It is crucial to preserving women’s rights and the integrity of women’s and girls sports. Across our country, female athletes are currently losing scholarships, opportunities, medals, education and training opportunities,” Powell said, as some begin banging.
As Powell attempts to continue her speech, someone can be heard banging even harder on their desk, apparently screaming “boo.”
Powell and others are visibly shocked.

Despite the dramatic tactics, the amendment passed 54-40, according to Fox News. The bill passed the Ohio House 57-36 and heads back to the Senate for a vote, according to the report.
Republican Gov. Mike DeWine resorted to signing an executive order at the end of June to allow college athletes to profit off of their name, image and likeness, which was the intent of the aforementioned legislation following the blowout, according to WKYC.
