A pilot was forced to land his plane on a New Jersey bridge after experiencing engine trouble on Monday, according to WIS News 10.

Around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, 18-year-old pilot Landon Lucas was flying his plane for an aerial advertising firm when he noticed the engine trouble as he was flying over Atlantic City, New Jersey, WIS News 10 reported.

The teen released the banner into the ocean and found a gap in traffic on a bridge through the Route 52 Causeway. Lucas was then able to make a safe landing. Officials stayed at the scene for multiple hours investigating the incident trying to determine what caused the plane to have engine issues, according to WIS News 10. Many people stopped in traffic to take pictures of the plane landing. “We rode up and couldn’t believe what we were seeing. It’s a really young pilot, and what an amazing job he did. It’s incredible that he was able to pull this off,” a woman said to WIS News 10.

The issue is still under investigation, Wis News 10 reported.
