Jared Scott knows a fair amount about struggles, as well as about self-healing. He has made a career out of public speaking. Through this medium, he encourages others to share their stories and promotes mental health awareness. He also shares his own stories and knows firsthand how to approach healing.

For Jared, struggles are not necessarily a bad thing. He does not even necessarily view failures as mistakes. Instead, he embraces them. Jared follows the philosophy that he would prefer to fail sooner rather than later. This way, he can “get that lesson and move forward.”

As Jared puts it, “Life is too short to sit still and think about the past.” He wants others to know that most successful people have failed. Many successful people make a point of learning from mistakes or failures. Jared takes to the next level, however. He says he’s “trying to keep failing because once you stop failing, that just means you’ve stop[ped] trying new things.” Jared Scott’s past struggles and failures have made him a better public speaker. They allow him to share the truth and connect with his audience.

Because of the importance of these struggles, acknowledging them is just one step toward self-healing. This even held true in the early days of Jared’s career. A seemingly random woman was part of the reason he shared his first song and got into public speaking. Upon hearing the music, she said that his song “had given her hope.” Through explaining that hope to Jared, she also shared her current struggles. This may have been one of Jared’s early inspirations for always being honest with his audience.
To Jared Scott, acknowledging your struggles does more than promote self-healing. It also encourages others to heal. This falls in line with his main goal in his career. Jared describes it as “to build culture and relationships by inspiring individuals to share their story, life experiences, and pain with their peers.” This type of sharing “break[s] down the walls that separate them from one another.”

Jared has always expressed himself through music. After a friend committed suicide while in high school, he wrote her a song. He also began public speaking to raise awareness of mental health issues. He found his purpose in these activities. Those activities let him acknowledge his struggles, both helping him heal himself and encouraging healing in others.
Jared Scott focuses on continual growth. He is always working toward helping others self-heal and gain confidence. By sharing his experience and encouraging others to share theirs, he hopes to create a sense of community that includes self-healing.
