A surveillance camera caught video of a man choking a woman with her own necklace before ripping it from her neck, police said Thursday.

The woman was walking her dog in Queens when she was approached from behind and accosted by the suspect. The video showed the woman fighting back for several seconds before the suspect was able to rip the necklace from her neck and escape.
The New York Police Department has asked the public to contact them if they have any information about the incident.
