Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo might just survive the ongoing effort to remove him from office, despite New York Attorney General Letitia James’ recent and damning findings — and he wouldn’t be the first democratic governor to coast through scandal mostly-unharmed.
Once a darling of the Democratic Party and corporate media, Cuomo is now clinging to power after a bevy of rapid-fire scandals. His administration covered up COVID-19 nursing home deaths after he signed an executive order requiring nursing homes to accept coronavirus-positive patients and a long list of women have accused him of sexual harassment or assault. Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam was also beleaguered in 2019 by simultaneous scandals, and lived to tell the tale.
