Nicolas Cage’s new movie “Prisoners of the Ghostland” looks wild.

The plot of the film, according to the trailer’s YouTube description, is, “In the treacherous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber is sprung from jail by a wealthy warlord, The Governor, whose adopted granddaughter has run away. Strapped into a leather suit that will self-destruct within five days if he doesn’t find the missing girl, the bandit sets off on a journey to find the young woman — and his own path to redemption.” (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

If that doesn’t sound crazy enough just yet, wait until you see the trailer. Give it a watch below.

Say whatever you want about Nic Cage, but the dude is out here just making absolutely outrageous movies. He’s making films that look like they were developed by a dude tripping on LSD.

First, he made a movie about a pig that hunts truffles and now he’s made whatever the hell “Prisoners of the Ghostland” is.

This guy went from making heaters like “The Rock” and “National Treasure” to films like this. It is a decline almost beyond words.

Will “Prisoners of the Ghostland” be any good? I don’t have a clue but I damn sure wouldn’t bet on it. Knowing what we know about Cage over the past decade, I’m not sure we have any reason to believe it’ll be great.

That might sound harsh, but it’s true.

For those of you interested, you can catch “Prisoners of the Ghostland” starting Sept. 17.
