It’s not a secret to anyone that the hype surrounding Mertz is borderline deafening at this point. You can’t read a single article about Wisconsin without Mertz being mentioned a ton.
Our entire offense revolves around his arm. Our hopes and dreams for the 2021 season ride and die with his arm.
If he plays well, then we’ll be cooking with gas.

The biggest question surrounding Mertz is whether or not we get the version the world saw against Illinois or if we get the version when the team struggled.
Clearly, people expect it to be the former, which is why he’s earning so much preseason preseason.
