Tuesday marks the 10-year anniversary of David Bennett’s famous rant about being a dog.
On Sept. 7, 2011, the former Coastal Carolina coach gave fans a rant for the ages when talking about how a cat got in his house, and the need for more dogs. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
“Be a dog,” Bennett said while somehow managing to keep a straight face. Watch the iconic college football below.

There are very few rants in the world of sports that withstand the test of time. Most are popular for a week or so and then drop off.
Two examples of rants that have 100% withstood the test of time are Mike Gundy’s “I’m a man” speech and Lee Elia’s rant while with the Cubs.
However, they’re a rarity. They’re not the norm.
While I don’t think Bennett’s rant is as great as either of those two, it’s still among the best we’ve ever seen in sports.
We had a full-grown man mimicking cat sounds to the media while talking about how his players need to “be a dog.”
