NYC Gunman Chases Down, Shoots Victim In Broad Daylight

The New York Police Department released a video Thursday showing a gunman chasing down a victim and shooting him in broad daylight.

The video shows the suspect wearing a disguise as he chases his target and fires multiple rounds before taking off. One bullet hit the victim in the left leg, the New York Post reported. (RELATED: High School To Stay Closed After 3 Students Shot In A Drive-By Shooting)

The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital and was in stable condition while being treated for his injuries, according to the New York Post.

The shooting occurred on 126th Street in Harlem, New York on July 27 around 4:20 p.m., Patch reported.

The identity of the suspect remains unclear. However, police released surveillance images providing a closer view of the alleged suspect, Patch reported.

Gun violence has been on the rise in New York with gun arrests remaining at a record high, according to the latest NYPD statistics, WNBC reported.

“Gun violence coming out of last year and into this year continues to be something we are working very hard at,” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said, according to WNBC. Gun violence “continues to be a stubborn thing to stamp out,” he added.
