Michael Jordan, co-owner of 23XI Racing, showed his excitement for Bubba Wallace Monday after his first NASCAR Cup Series Win, according to Fox News.

“I’m so happy for Bubba and our entire 23XI Racing team. This is a huge milestone and a historic win for us,” Jordan wrote in a statement on the team’s Twitter account.

Jordan and Denny Hamlin launched the one-car team with Wallace as its only competitor. Wallace’s win at the YellaWood 500 in Talledega was the first victory for the team. Wallace is also the first black driver to win a Cup Series since 1963, according to Fox News. (RELATED: Bubba Wallace Says He’s ‘Relieved’ The FBI Determined The Rope In His Stall Wasn’t A Noose)
“It’s Talladega. It’s his home state. Everything that happened at Talladega last year. Things that Bubba didn’t ask to happen but he had to go through it,” said Hamlin, according to Fox News.
A noose was found in Wallace’s garage at the Talladega Superspeedway in June 2020, causing an outpouring of support for the driver. The FBI investigated the incident and determined that the noose had been there since October 2019 and no federal crime had been committed.

The racing team plans to add veteran Kurt Busch next season. Busch was in fourth place when the race was called due to weather, Fox News reported.
