Pau Gasol’s days of playing basketball are over.

During a Tuesday press conference, the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar and two-time champion announced that he was hanging up his shoes after more than two decades of pro basketball around the globe. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

What an absolutely epic run Gasol had on the court in America and in Spain to begin and end his storied basketball career.

He won two rings, was an all-star six times and was one of the most versatile bigs the league has ever seen.

Now, at the age of 41, Gasol has decided that his time playing basketball is over and it’s time for him to start the next chapter of his life.

After the career he’s had, I’d say it’s more than safe to say he’s earned the right to enjoy retirement.

There’s no question Gasol is bound for the hall of fame, and he has 100% earned his spot. Props to him for having one hell of a great career.
