It had been previously reported that Al Golden was expected to take over the Huskies, but that was clearly wrong.

This is a gigantic hire for the program. Even though his time with the Bruins didn’t end on a positive note, he’s a home run hire by any metric for the Huskies.

There is literally not a bigger name the program could get than Jim Mora.

He was 46-30 during his time at UCLA, he had some strong seasons early in his career in Los Angeles and he knows what it’s like to coach at a high level.

There’s no name bigger than Jim Mora that would realistically even give the Huskies the time of day. They’re arguably the worst team in all of college football, and have been for years.

Mora is capable of injecting serious energy and attention into a team that desperately needs both.

What an awesome hire for the Huskies.
