Virginia Tech has shown football coach Justin Fuente the exit.

The Hokies announced early Tuesday morning that both sides “have mutually agreed to part ways” after another disappointing season. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Because the Hokies didn’t wait until December 15 to get rid of Fuente, they now owe him a staggering $10 million buyout, according to Pete Thamel.

I think a lot of people assumed that this would be Fuente’s last season with the Hokies, and it’s now a done deal.

Fuente is out the door and VT now has to find a new coach. It’s not even noon yet and shockwaves are being sent through the sport.

Virginia Tech has an incredibly passionate fan base and they deserve to have a better football program than what they’ve seen on the field the past few years.

A change had to be made, and the Hokies pulled the trigger on it happening this morning.

The question now is who they’ll go after next. Give the fact it’s a major ACC program, they should be able to attract several big names.
