“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” started off season 15 with an absolutely fire episode.

The hit FXX show returned Wednesday night, and it took no prisoners. In an era where great comedy is becoming exceedingly rare, “Always Sunny” swung for the fences to start the latest season. (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

The entire episode is dedicated to how the gang unknowingly impacted the 2020 election and the aftermath. Specifically, Dennis and Mac screwed up ballots being counted, Frank did Rudy Guiliani’s infamous black drip down his face and Charlie and Dee gave supplies to the Jan. 6 rioters, including the QAnon Shaman’s infamous pelt outfit.

Does that sound hilarious? I can promise it’s even funnier when you actually watch it. I loved every single second of it, especially the big reveal about who the gang really supported.

Most shows wouldn’t dare touch topics like this. They wouldn’t even consider it, but “Always Sunny” didn’t even hesitate.

That’s why it’s one of the top two comedies on television. The only other show that competes is “South Park.”

We waited more than two years for “Always Sunny” to return and it didn’t disappoint at all. “Sunny” might not be as wild as it was in the early years, but there’s no doubt that for the time being, the show is throwing straight heat.
