Auburn quarterback Bo Nix is leaving the program.

Nix announced late Sunday night with a “heavy heart” that he was entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer to finish his career elsewhere. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The dual-threat passer has been the face of the program since the 2019 season, and he’s now moving on. You can watch his announcement below.

This is massive news out of the SEC, and I’m not sure it’s something a lot of people saw coming. Nix got hurt towards the end of the season, but he was still the most notable player on the team.

Even though he’s had some rough games over the years, there’s no question that Nix has been the face of the program.

Ever since he lit up Oregon as a freshman, Nix has been a household name in the SEC.

Now, he’s taking his talents elsewhere to finish his career. It’s too bad things didn’t work out for him with the Tigers because he was born to be an Auburn man.

The good news for him is that there will be plenty of teams that come calling for his services. He’s very athletic and competent.

I have no doubt at all he’ll land at another big program. He gave it his all at Auburn, and it’s now time to move on.
