A 9-year-old Missouri girl was found yards away from her home in a field covered in mud after a tornado ripped through the family’s home Friday evening.

Annistyn Rackley was found by first responders after the tornado destroyed the family’s home, according to KXLY.

Sandra Hooker, Meghan’s aunt, described Annistyn as a “special angel” who was energetic and outgoing despite having a rare liver condition, the outlet reported.

Trey and Meghan Rackley attempted to take shelter in a windowless bathroom with their three daughters, KXLY reported. Meghan took a picture of her three daughters and sent it to Hooker 15 minutes before the tornado ripped through the family’s home.

Meghan suffered broken bones along with a head injury, with Trey suffering from cuts and bruises, according to KXLY. Avalinn broke a vertebra in her back while Alanna, 3, has already been discharged from the hospital along with Trey, reported KXLY. “I was flying around in the tornado and I prayed to Jesus to take care of me, and he spit me out – and the tornado spit me out into the mud,” Annistyn’s 7-year-old sister Avalinn told doctors and nurses, reported the outlet.

The family had not yet unpacked after moving Dec. 4 when the tornado hit, KXLY reported.

The tornados ripped across Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas and Tennessee late Friday into early Saturday morning. Over 70 people have died from injuries sustained by the tornados.
