Thirteen people were hospitalized Saturday after a carbon monoxide leak at a hotel in Marysville, Ohio.

The initial 911 call reported a girl had fell into the hotel pool or was unconscious by the pool, reported KMMO.

“Shortly after this call, the local 911 Center received additional calls (referencing) unconscious subjects in and around the pool area,” Police Chief Tony Brooks said, CNN reported. “Others described symptoms such as dizziness and a burning in their throat.”

Six of the 13 people hospitalized were children, according to KMMO. Five of the victims were listed in serious condition and at least four have been released from the hospital, according to KMMO. (RELATED: Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Kills Immigrant Family Of 7, Police Say)

“We did have life-threatening levels of carbon monoxide in the pool area of the hotel, and we transported several people to local hospitals,” Marysville Fire Chief Jay Riley said, KMMO reported. “We continue the investigation into the source and glad [sic] that no one died as a result of their exposure.”

Nine of the victims, including the two-year-old who was unconscious, were taken to the hospital, CNN reported. The other four victims went to the hospital on their own.

“At the time of the incident, Marysville Fire Department found life threatening levels of carbon monoxide in the pool area of the hotel,” the Marysville City said in a press release obtained by the Daily Caller. “The hotel was evacuated and closed following the incident and remained that way through most of Sunday, January 30.”
