An ex-police officer who was found not guilty of filing a false report about an arrest he made said he’d lost everything because Black Lives Matter protesters terrorized his family, Fox News reported.

Former La Mesa, California, police officer Matthew Dages told the “The Ingraham Angle” on Tuesday he “lost everything” after his reputation was ruined, Fox News reported.

“I describe it to people that I’ve lost everything, to be honest,” Dages told Ingraham. “I’ve lost my career.”

“My family was under this terror for the last year and a half now. Thankfully, we’ve come out victorious on that end. … And also on top of that … my wife [and I] were set back about $100,000 in legal fees,” Dages said, Fox News reported. “So we’ve been put through the wringer in the name of justice.”

Dages was accused of lying about the basis of his arrest of Amaurie Johnson in May 2020, triggering protests after surveillance videos went viral, Fox 5 San Diego reported. Dages was acquitted of the accusation in December 2021. (RELATED: ‘I Don’t Think You’re Crazy’: Fox Bill Hemmer And BLM Leader Trade Blows On Crime Spike)

The ex-police officer was fired by the La Mesa Police Department shortly after the arrest, and he would’ve faced up three years in prison if convicted of filing a false report, according to Fox 5 San Diego.
