Footage from Daily Caller reporters demonstrates how alleged human smugglers in Eagle Pass, Texas, attempt to evade arrest from Mexican authorities by pretending to be innocent bystanders rescuing drowning migrants.

The footage, taken in early April, also shows how migrants swim across the Rio Grande underneath International Bridge 2 in order to arrive illegally in Eagle Pass from Piedras Negras, Mexico. (RELATED: Here’s An Exclusive Look At The Trash-Ridden Trail Used By Illegal Immigrants To Enter America)

The migrants that were crossing into Eagle Pass from Piedras Negras were mostly of Cuban descent, local Customs and Border Protection agents, National Guard personnel and migrants told Daily Caller reporters Jorge Ventura and Juan Mendoza, who were on-the-ground.

The Del Rio sector has been experiencing a large increase in migrant encounters as the end of Title 42 approaches in May. The Biden administration recently announced that the Trump-era Title 42 public health policy is set to end May 23. The policy allows the U.S. to swiftly expel migrants to Mexico or their home country to help control the spread of COVID-19.
