The first look at “The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes” has hit the web.

The plot of the highly-anticipated prequel film, which was also a book, is as follows:

Years before he would become the tyrannical President of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) is the last hope for his fading lineage, a once-proud family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, the young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), the girl tribute from impoverished District 12. But, after Lucy Gray commands all of Panem’s attention by defiantly singing during the reaping ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favor. Uniting their instincts for showmanship and newfound political savvy, Snow and Lucy Gray’s race against time to survive will ultimately reveal who is a songbird, and who is a snake.

While the preview doesn’t show any action from the upcoming movie, it does play off fans’ nostalgic feelings for the original books and films. (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

Give it a watch below.

While I never read the prequel, I did crush the entire “Hunger Games” series, and I thought the movies and books were all awesome.

In fact, “Hunger Games” was my go-to book during college when I needed to kill time between classes. I loved it.

Then, Jennifer Lawrence starred in the movies, and the rest is history. The films were an absolutely epic success, and the series helped propel Lawrence to superstar status.

Now, fans are getting a prequel film November 17, 2023. Yeah, that’s a long way off, but I have no doubt that it’s going to be lit if it’s anything like the original movies.

I can’t wait to see what we get once a full trailer drops!
