The Denver Broncos are reportedly being sold to Walmart heir Rob Walton.

The Broncos are being sold to Walton for the staggering price of $4.5 billion, according to Forbes. Forbes also reported that it’s the most expensive sale of a sports franchise in the history of America. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Interestingly, Forbes noted that due to the Walton family’s insane wealth due to Walmart, the Denver Broncos could have a monster advantage when it comes to handing out huge contracts.

“Current NFL teams owned by the same family for generations often don’t have that type of money lying around because so many family members feed off the team,” Forbes explained, but that wouldn’t apply to the Walton’s because they’re one of the richest families in the world.

That means the spigot could be flowing with green for generations to come.

Also, I simply can’t imagine buying something for $4.5 billion. That’s a staggering amount of money. It’s not that it’s just a ton of money, but it’s also just a fraction of Walton’s net worth.

He’s literally able to liquidate it and hand it over. There are very few billionaires who could quickly get $4.5 billion. That’s just a fact.
