Two people were killed and four others were wounded following a nightclub shooting in Gary, Indiana, Sunday morning.

Jonte Dorsey, 34, and Jah’Nice Quinn, 26, were both found unresponsive by police at Playo’s Nightclub around 2 a.m., according to CBS Chicago. Both victims were transported to Methodist Hospital Northlake where they were pronounced dead.

Four other people were also wounded, with one in critical condition and the rest receiving non life-threatening injuries, the outlet reported.

Gary Mayor Jerome Prince addressed the shooting Sunday evening, calling for gun control legislation. (RELATED: Jean-Pierre Unable To Answer Whether Proposed Gun Control Legislation Would’ve Prevented Mass Shootings)

“It is well beyond time our national leaders pass common sense, real legislation that curbs easy access to firearms,” Prince said, according to ABC7 Chicago.

Prince also ordered the night club to temporarily close Sunday.

“We are taking steps to make our community safer and to hold businesses accountable for their actions. Today, I signed a letter ordering the temporary closure of Playo’s. We will thoroughly investigate the Saturday night incident and determine our next steps,” he said, according to the outlet.

In 2017, Playo’s Nightclub, then called D&G’s, had a shooting that left one person killed and others wounded, according to NBC Chicago.

Sunday’s shooting is being investigated by the Metro Homicide Unit, CNN reported.
