The Cleveland Browns are reportedly still in talks with the Carolina Panthers to trade Baker Mayfield.

The Browns and Panthers have been having discussions for a long time about a trade for the former first overall pick, but nothing has come together as of right now. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Well, the two sides are still debating what a trade package would look like, but the main problem is how much of Mayfield’s salary the Browns will remain on the hook for, according to Jonathan Jones.

If money is the only issue, the Browns should just bite the bullet, eat a large portion of Mayfield’s salary and get him out of town. I truly do not understand how this is still an issue.

The Baker Mayfield era in Cleveland is over. To pretend otherwise is foolish.

It’s better the Browns get something than nothing at all seeing as how the odds of Mayfield ever playing another snap for the team are hovering around zero.

Even if the Panthers only want to pay 20% of Mayfield’s 2022 salary, it’s still worth getting rid of him.

The Browns need to get this done and they need to get it done ASAP.
