Draymond Green has walked back a recent comment about Kendrick Perkins.

The Golden State Warriors forward recently went mega-viral when he called the ESPN pundit and former NBA player a “c**n” while discussing an on-going feud between the two sides. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Now, he’s admitted he should have chosen a different phrase, but stands by the spirit of his argument.

“The other day when I was speaking, I used a word that carries a racial connotation. When I used the word, I could’ve very well replaced the word with clown. I very well could have replaced the word with idiot, moron. I could’ve replaced the word with anything, and continued in-stride. The word that I’m speaking of is I used the word c**n.’ As you know for me, I don’t hide behind anything…I stand on what I mean and what I say…I’m taking full responsibility,” Green explained when addressing the situation, according to the New York Post.

He further added that he can “admit” that he was “wrong” to use the word when describing Perkins. You can watch his full comments in the video below.

Good for Green for having the guts to just come out and say he shouldn’t have used the word by actually explaining his stance. He didn’t just bend the knee and beg for mercy.

He said he could have chosen a different word, and then explained how he uses the word. He’s clearly not a racist dude, but he also acknowledged it’s not fair for people to know his intent.

Words mean different things to different people, and Green learned that lesson the hard way.

Does his use of the word make him a bad dude? Watch his explanation and decide for yourself. Does he look like a guy with malice and hate in his heart?

I think the answer is obviously not.

Green said something stupid, owned up to it and has moved on. In 2022, it’s nice to see someone be accountable when they make a mistake!
