“Yellowstone” actress Q’orianka Kilcher was charged with felony fraud after allegedly collecting nearly $97,000 in disability payments between 2019 and 2021.

The California Department of Insurance indicated that Kilcher is facing two felony counts of worker’s compensation insurance fraud after reportedly collecting $96,838 in temporary disability benefits, according to Fox News. She is accused of taking these funds over the span of several months, all while working on the set of “Yellowstone.”

The insurance company claims Kilcher started collecting disability insurance in 2018, after injuring her neck and right shoulder while riding in a production vehicle on the set of “Dora,” according to Fox News. Kilcher reportedly cited severe neck pain as the source of her inability to continue working. However, she returned to “Yellowstone” in 2020, when she played the role of Angela Blue Thunder in four episodes.

“According to records, she returned to the doctor and started receiving disability benefits five days after last working on the show,” the insurance company said, according to Fox News. (RELATED: REPORT: Reality TV Star Pleads Guilty To Fraud)

Kilcher reportedly surrendered to authorities in May, but her legal representative, Michael Becker, has maintained that she has not collected any benefits that she was not entitled to.

“Third-party doctors verified her injury and entitlement to benefits,” Becker said, according to Fox News.

“Ms. Kilcher was at all times candid with her doctors and treatment providers… and she never intentionally accepted benefits that she did not believe she was entitled to,” Becker said.

He went on to indicate that Kilcher will “vigorously defend herself and asks that she be afforded the presumption of innocence both in and outside the courthouse,” according to Fox News.
