Oregon football player Spencer Webb has died.

The talented player and tight end for the Ducks died at the age of 22, according to The Oregonian. Not many details of his death are known at this time, but head coach Dan Lanning tweeted, “[Prayer emoji] So full of life in every moment of the day. Your smile and energy will be missed Spencer. I love you!” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

This is an absolutely tragic situation, and there’s no other way to sum it up. Death is always sad, but it’s a hell of a lot sadder when a young man dies at the age of 22.

A young football player at the University of Oregon should have his entire life ahead of him. There should be decades of success in his future.

Tragically, it has all come to an end for Webb at the age of 22. To call it anything short of a heartbreaking situation would be a lie.

No matter what the cause of death turns out to be, it’s a horrific situation for everyone involved.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Webb’s family, friends and the entire Oregon Ducks community.
